Curious to see what is catching everyones eye at the NAMM show this year? What is the "got to get this" piece of gear or software?

IK Obi
Shameless, but I'm SUPER excited to get my hands on our iRig HD and iRig BlueBoard. The iRig HD can be used on iOS devices and on my Macbook as my main audio interface. I use a BLA Auteur preamp and that with iRig HD would be my entire set up. That alone makes me psyched! Then a Bluetooth MIDI foot controller with the expansion of up to 2 expression pedals is hard to beat too. Both of these won Best of Show at CES. They also seem to be the most asked about at NAMM when people stop by the IK booth.

Is there pricing on these IK Obi? When I went to your site a few days ago, I didn't see any. Thanks.

Anyone had a look at the
LaunchKey from Novation
? Looks pretty interesting and they are dirt cheap but I wonder how it integrates with a computer DAW. Most of the Namm vids seem to focus on the iPad apps - which are really cool too BTW.

The Maillard Reaction
"Launchkey is a controller for all major music software, giving you hands-on control of your mixer, transport and more in Ableton Live, FL Studio, Pro Tools, Reason, Logic and Cubase. With nine faders, nine buttons, eight rotary knobs and transport controls, nothing comes close to Launchkey for sheer controllability."

Yeah, I know the propaghanda Mike. I guess the question is whether this integrates simmilarily to how their current controllers do through Automap and whether mapping controllers on these things is as versatile as Automap. They provide no info on this yet and these wouldn't be interesting to me if I have to map everything to old fashioned MIDI.

:-) Yes, I didn't mean to seem like I was telling you anything about it that you didn't already know. You make a good point about the Automap.
I thought the list of major music software was thought provoking.
best regards,
mike

Ah, I see what you're geting at. Novations's products works extermely well with Sonar and other apps not mentioned there so I don't expect it to be any different with these cotrollers;)
