Do they make MIDI (female) to 1/4" whats-it-called's? (male)

So like       MIDI > Adapter > 1/4"
              Male      FM                Male

Purpose is to hopefuly connect a MIDI keyboard into the guitar input on say a Fast Track II or Scarlett

MIDI isn't audio, it's data.

Does your Midi keyboard have audio outs? If so, connect them to your interface.

The Fast Track 2 doesn't have dedicated Midi IO, neither does the Scarlett 2i2, but the 2i4 does.

What exactly are you trying to do?

I read your gear specs from the other thread (put your specs in the signature, so they're always ready and available when you want to ask something). Oddly enough, your keyboard doesn't seem to have audio out. I would have taken it for granted in a keyboard that has so much internal sounds.

As mentioned by Bristol, MIDI and audio are two different things. MIDI has no sound.  You could try the headphone out, but AFAIK there's a risk you can break something (?).

And your comment about using a laptop as a second screen....I wonder if it's possible.

Well I before I posted this I searched the adapter on eBay and the had it so I thought it'll work-I was trying to connect my keyboard into a Scareltt or Fast Track because i like those boxes better :)
If it's not possible I'll certainly switch to. NI Complete Studio 6

Why not go with a simple MIDI interface then use the audio interface you really want? - something like this if you only need a single MIDI in -

I got curious and checked eBay. They really have such adapters. I just can't imagine what they're for!!
Or...does the MIDI pinning match to the DIN pinning used in normal hifi equipment a few decades ago??


In that case mentioning MIDI in the product info is sheer ignorance or a deliberate scam.

I bet that's exactly what they are - straight audio connectors, just using the same DIN connectors. Nothing to do with Midi at all.

BUT, MIDI only really uses 2 pins--- so it COULD work as a MIDI connector! but we won't go there. 

I will assume he has a Yamaha Consumer type Keyboard or Piano. Yamaha for some strange reason has always excluded proper audio connectors on it's consumer model keyboards. Both Keyboards and Digital pianos. As a sound guy this is always a PITA. At least they have proper 1/4 TRS jacks for the headphones.  It's why I always recommend Roland Keyboards, They have proper 1/4 jacks. 
It will work just fine , Best to buy the right cable, I use one of my INSERT cables. They are   1x 1/4" TRS  Y'd to   2x 1/4" TS.  
While your waiting for that to show up you can use a stereo mini jack to2x  RCA  Y cable with adaptors, all found at the dollar store. It will kinda work....:) 


But seriously,, Any keyboard that does not have a MIDI or USB connector is going to sound like a turd... You need a MIDI keyboard/ controller and then use Sonar,s wonderful Soft Synths.

5 pin DIN audio cables will function as MIDI cables but not the other way round. MIDI uses three of the five pins, DIN uses all 5. I've seen it claimed that DIN cables are unsuitable for MIDI because of the extra two wires but I've never seen an explanation that convinces me. I certainly used DIN cables for MIDI 20 years ago without problems (because I could get DIN locally, but not MIDI).
 
Female-female DIN connectors work fine if you need to link two male-male MIDI cables together to extend them.

Thanks to all who've helped. I've checked out the Komplete Studio 6, and now I'm really starting to like it. Unless theres a price issue I'll get that instead :)
