Yesterday I downloaded and installed XPand!2, authorized it, scanned it in Sonar (where it was recognized) and inserted it into a project.  The interface comes up and all the presets are listed, but it makes no sound at all.  My routing is correct, and I've tried everything I can think of to get it to work.  I'm hoping that someone here who has this can steer me in the right direction.  Thanks in advance.

Just checked and inserted it into an instrument track.
No issues...works as expected.

Well, thanks for checking.  That wasn't my question, however.  I think I'm looking for the samples for this program, and I have clicked on the factory content file that came in the download, but nothing happens.  Any ideas?

I went through several patches and they all work fine.

Did you put it on an Audio Track and not an Instrument Track?
You would get no sound if that was the case, as an Audio Track
will not accept MIDI input.  Just a thought...

No, I did what normally do which was insert it as a simple instrument track.  I do this with all my VST's.

Yes, I know that.  I went through many of the presets first but none make a sound.

Here's my test setup. The Input field on the MIDI track shows All Inputs MIDI as a source (my Nektar P6 included) after I did an edit (following the screen capture). Either way, playing on my P6 produces the desired sound. Clicking on the patch name field at the bottom of the GUI brings up the patch list.

What are you triggering the VST with?  A MIDI file, a keyboard controller, or the Sonar virtual keyboard?

Let's test the audio output from the VST.

Unfortunately, this instrument has no virtual keyboard on it's interface. So let's use Sonar's!
1.  set the MIDI/Instrument track input to Virtual Controller MIDI ch1
2.  set MIDI/Instrument track output to Xpand!2 ch 1
3.  go to Sonar Views > Virtual Controller/Keyboard. http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=Views.51.html

Make sure the track is selected and has MIDI echo enabled.  Make sure no other track has "Solo" enabled.

Try playing Xpand!2 with the virtual keyboard.
