This update is worth the price ... AD was already my first choice for drum programming.
AD2 is better.

Not that I'm an icon of music production technology ... I'm learning new stuff by the studio hour...

I do earn my living through music production ...compliments on the drum sounds never happened until I started using AD.

Couldn't agree more...best value in drums out there...

BFD 3, IMO, is the best right now, but also twice the price...but AD has always been a GREAT and easy way to get GREAT sounding tracks...

AD 2 is a LEAP forward IMO.  Very impressed and very pleased with the upgrade!

I'm not doing the upgrade but I think it's great Cake paired up with AD. I own BFD Eco but I'm currently using AD on something I'm working (wanted to try it out in a mix) and it sounds great. It's very easy to work with to and it plays nice with my pad controller.

Hopefully XLN gets some good business from the Cake customers and in turn Cake customers get some love back with discounts on Adpacks and upgrades. They have some fancy jazz/brush Adpacks that don't seem to be really available with the other big players. If Platinum Samples did some work for them that would really be awesome.

I recently took the cross grade from EZD to SD2 (same price) and decided to skip the upgrade to EZD2 and hold out for ADD2. I plan on upgrading to ADD2 this weekend. I'll probably end up upgrading to EZD2 eventually though.

I wouldn't say no to AD2 but there's no way I could buy it and be able to continue in a happy marriage!

Grum.

I like the sounds in AD, but I wish they had better support for V-Drums. Hi hat controls sound awful with my Roland kit. I didn't see this feature addressed in any of the AD2 "new features".

Are there any compelling reasons to upgrade?

What Joden said... I'm not seeing any must haves...?
