Will the upgrade be part of X4?

I'd feel silly paying for it now and again in the fall.

From the several videos I've seen of EZD2 and the ONE video I've seen of AD2 I think I'll be upgrading EZD2.  AD2 doesn't appear to be much of an upgrade at all, at least not when compared to EZD2.

If someone has upgraded to AD2 I'd love to hear how good it is.

I also tried hard to find something that would entice me to upgrade to AD2.  I simply love the JAZZ sticks kit but I don't see anything that makes me want to fork over some more money.  Someone convince me otherwise, please?

PS - BFD3 is amazing, just want FX to release more kits with the added samples and articulations.  The new kits sound awesome.

I recently took the cross grade from EZD to SD2 (same price) and decided to skip the upgrade to EZD2 and hold out for ADD2. I plan on upgrading to ADD2 this weekend. I'll probably end up upgrading to EZD2 eventually though.

I wouldn't say no to AD2 but there's no way I could buy it and be able to continue in a happy marriage!

Grum.

Lol. I hear ya Grum. There is something special about the way Toontrack Drum Samplers sound. The kits are fantastic. I know I'm loving SD2 and will definitely be upgrading to SD3 when it becomes available. Wonder when that'll be, but anyway... that said I also like ADD and see it as another color on the pallet.

I've tested Addictive Drums 2 and while I thnk it's a great update to the version we got with Sonar X3, I'm going to stick with Superior Drummer 2. I have all the SDX packs, the MIDI packs are amongst the most realistic and useable I've heard. The whole SD2 environment sits very comfortably with me and I can't imagine how it could be improved. If it never changes I'll still be happy with what I have now.

If I upgrade, will all my tracks that I have created with AD1 still play exactly the same? I don't want to have to redo all my drum tracks because the upgrade has changed them somehow.

Hey I'm bumping this thread.   I'm really using Addictive Drums a lot,  but what is the reason for the upgrade?

Well... I broke down and decided to go with EZD2. I have more invested with Toontrack as far as EZX packs and I liked the idea of getting 2 new drum kits. I will upgrade to ADD2 at some point.

Looks like no compelling reason...

I've done the upgrades to both...AD2 sounds better to me...

Everything is new...new interface, new (re-done) samples, more kit piece slots, more control...
The only new kit is the Fairfax Vol. 1, but all the others have been separated into single kits...

There is a Search by Grid feature ,that lets you put the beat you want in a "grid view" and it will show
you the corresponding beats in the browswer, there is a "Transform" section that lets you adjust many aspects of the MIDI.

EZ2 wins for ease of use (which is their forte) and for the Song Creator and Tap to Find options.
It's very easy to create and entire song.  It's like EZKeys for drums...
The only thing updated in EZ2 sound wise is the new kits contained in the upgrade.
All the other samples are the same, just with new "presets" and graphics for the EZ2 interface.

If I had to choose by sound....AD2 wins...but EZ WILL get the job done.

For ease of use and song writers, EZ2 wins...it's amazingly simple now to put a song together.

Comes down to preference, as both have strengths and weakness...but BOTH are well worth
the upgrade prices.

Everything pales in comparison to BFD 3 right now....and, from what I understand, no SD 3 is in the
works...and no SSD5 in the works either (that I'm aware of)
