I will admit to 60+, but a GEEZER?  Nah, not for another 20-30 yrs, if even then; we'll see . This from someone who since high school aspired to someday work in a 'reel' recording studio, never made it, and thinks all the desktop digital tools available today are a huge advantage to today's end user, whatever your purpose.

Pretty good geezer contingent, I'd say. I'm 66... still working lots of gigs, studio, etc. in Austin, TX -- a good place for geezers, I guess. Sonar X3e, Win 7/64 Professional. My system will take only 4GB, though I do use an SSD that helps keep virtual memory swap quick and clean. Focusrite Scarlett 18i20, and a PreSonus Digimax D8 extension via ADAT light pipe, Nvidia GT8600 GT. The whole systems getting a little gray around the edges, like myself... but it's all in the music -- just like the geetar is all in the fingers.

I resemble the geezer remark....  59 now but grew up in North Jersey... (makes me about 90 in Jersey years). :-)
 
Same story, music is a wonderful self fulfilling hobby these days and been making music since the 60s.

I just turned 67 this year.
Started out in 1969 after my military picnic experiences.
Music/geology major, wrote songs and played in many band endeavors which began in 1970.
In '79 I got more serious and purchased a TEAC 3440S for 1200$ and like many here have gone through countless studio incarnations and equipment upgrades.
That 3440s served me well for 20 years but I'd never go back to the analogue world of perpetual tape deck maintenance. :)
 
I'm running much leaner now thanks to the technology we've seen evolve over the decades.
Yes...I'm on X3....just couldn't resist the last upgrade offer from X2.
 
Another day above the dirt for me so all is well.

15 months to go, that's scary.
 
Its always been just a hobby. Started out building an "organ" (more of a stylophone if the truth is know) from plans in "Practical Electronics", went to get the chance to play about with an EMS Synthi A at college. Synths cost the earth in the 70's and it was a while before I got my own, a Yamaha preset SY2. Finally in the 80's I got a system where I could record something Roland MC202, TR303, SH101 and TR606, and importantly a Fostex portastudio. Later I added some MIDI stuff.
 
Now I am pretty much all "in the box" with software emulations of the Melotrons, Moog modular, Korg Mono Poly, Hammond B3 and a zillion other instruments I lusted after in my youth.
I am still no good at it but I have a lot of fun.

I was 46 at the time when this 65 year old man walks into my store and wanted to buy a Banjo and take lessons! 
He had never in his life had anything to do with music. But he had just retired so had time on his hands and this was on his Bucket list.  What an amazing student... he actually practiced! I'd say within 2 months he outgrew my abilities. Anyways he was an inspiration to me. When your young you have it in your head that life will slow down as you hit 60. This dude showed me that it's actually a great place to start up something new.

I'm not retired , I can't afford to be, I can only find casual work these days, but people stop asking you where and if your working...nothing has changed for me but being over 60 instantly gives you the right to be a slacker..
 
I have a job interview today for my dream job. 20 hours a week Maintenance man for Assisted living facility. The guy who is retiring just turned 75.

I met an old feller at my local pub years ago who was one of the original coders for a major software company. He was (wrongly) diagnosed with Parkinson's (turned out it was something else) and he had to retire. Apparently he used to play guitar and gig around as a young man but because of his affliction he couldn't anymore (shakes, numbness, etc... a guitarists nightmare) so he got into programming MIDI compositions. The whole MIDI/DAW thing was completely foreign to me back then but he had seen me play and knew I was putting together my music theory manifesto so he asked me to teach him some theory. Best student I ever had (polite, paid attention, did his homework, appreciative, etc) and he took everything and made these neat little songs inputting through an old DX-7 and then just by click and point after his condition deteriorated. Cool guy.
 
Good luck on the job interview. I was a maintenance guy for a few years at a film studio and it was hard, dirty work but I freaking LOVED that gig. I have dreams about it to this day. Cheers.

I'll get in the fray too. I'll be 66 in two months. Been recording for over 25 years. (go back to the good 'ol cakewalk 9 days. We've come a long way baby!) Still produce many singer songwriter albums, and help newbys and inexperienced songwriters when I can with recording and album producing.
Also still playing trumpet. Decided to take my playing from above average mediocrity to an above average pro jazz player, and started taking lessons again from a stellar pro player. It's hard work, but I still get called for gigs, and as long as the cell phone keeps buzzin' with gig offers, I'm takin' 'em.
