Hi,

I'm currently playing around with X3 and I'm trying to figure out how, or even if, the following is possible.

I have an audio track with a sample playing on it.
I have a midi track with some simple note information on it.
I have Reaktor5 with The Mouth.

I want to send the audio from the audio track into Reaktor and control the pitch information via the midi track.

I can do the first half if I put Reaktor in as an FX but then I can't seem to route midi information to it.
I can do the second half if I make Reaktor a soft synth but then there is no way to route the audio into it (either direct or via a send) despite the VST knowing it has two audio inputs.

Am I missing something or is this just a limitation of Sonar X3?
(For the record it took me about 2mins to hook the same thing up in FLStudio 11 using a sample routed to a 'send' with Reaktor running as a filter and using a 'midi out' instrument to route midi information to the filter.)

i am trying to get this to work as requested but no luck.  Not sure you can do this in Sonar.

I have discovered that you can use the mouth in the FX bin of an audio track and get vocoder effect.

Have not figure out yet how to get the midi to trigger it.

Still trying

Nope, I could not figure out any way to do this.

Still, you can get pretty good vocoder effects just using the Mouth in the FX Bin on a audio track.

Yeah, I get the feeling this is a limitation of Sonar's routing which is a shame :(

This is possible. The key is to enable Reaktor MIDI In when you put it in the effects bin.
That puts Reaktor in the MIDI chain. Then you can assign the MIDI track to Reaktor.

From Insert Soft Synth Options dialog box, (don't know if it helps):

Enable MIDI Output

Some synths can create MIDI data from built-in arpeggiators or other components. If you want to record or redirect this new MIDI data, enable this check box.

Thanks guys - I've no idea how I missed that last night when I was poking around; clearly I've a fair amount still to learn :)

Thanks again :)
