I installed Komplete 9 And everything worked fine except I can not open guitar rig 5 from any of the VST or efx menus. I can use guitar rig from my desk top. Can't figure out what I did incorrectly or how to correct the problem.

Make sure the "Guitar Rig 5.dll" is in your VST scan path, verify the plug-in is enabled in the Cakewalk Plug-in Manager and you are using the "Default - All Plug-ins" layout.

Will check that now.

Thanks, that worked. I do need to organize my layout tho. It's a mess.

Best thing I ever did was move them out of the program files path.

Can you explain? Where did you move them and how?

To explain a bit, moving programs away from the Program Files folder will allow them to run without having to deal with Windows User Account Control.

Some folks move some applications, per the above, some folks disable UAC in Windows altogether (I definitely do NOT recommend this option), and the rest of folks leave things where they install by default and simply hit Enter whenever Windows asks for confirmation to continue (which is what I do).

It is a personal choice, for the 1st and 3rd option above, and - in my opinion - the 2nd option of disabling UAC altogether is a bad choice.  It exists to help protect the computer.

Yup exactly what Bob said... I chucked them on another drive myself as I find them easier to manage that way (there will of course be no performance improvement, but I do manage VST plugins like data myself).

I think Cakewalk should change the default VST file path for this in future versions of Sonar, but it is easy to change (but can be rather time consuming). And yes, please do not disable UAC!

Cheers..
