im getting a strange and very annoying glitch with the transport controls,if i load two or more synths the stop button becomes in operable and remains lookin depressed and at the same time while the project is playing the pause button stays blue.and it dosnt matter if its third party or the synths or drum plugins that cam with sonar x3 studio all of them do it also this is happening regardless of 32 or 64 bit sonar and regardless of 32 or 64 bit plugins

Only when I updated to X3e did I start getting this problem if I use more than one vst. Synth the transport freezes etc and if I click save while the project is playing back it freezes also grrrrrrr!

This is such a shame.sonar is such an awesome program but with bugs like these its nearly unusable will be requesting a refund if no solution can be found.

Also if more then two synths are open deleting one freezes sonar

Yes, having same issues here. Deleting a synth, Sonar appears to be working - CPU bars active - but everything else frozen...sometimes after 5 mins or so, message about whether I'm sure that I want to delete it - yes by now I'm really sure. At other times, nothing happens and I have to restart Sonar - that's if it hasn't dropped my drivers.

Today, one of my synths was greyed out. Had to reload a second version and transfer the recorded lines to it...that hasn't happened before.

Yes, also confirming the Transport bug as well. Noticed this a while back and seems to 'come alive' again after playing track and putting putting cursor in the track.

Other strange things occurring - like Rob Papen synths dropping keyboard out so I can't use shortcuts - and Additive Drums 2 doing the same.

Yeah I had weird issues whereby I had to press play and stop before I could continue (like I was clearing a buffer or something). I'm wiping and then installing now Windows 8.1.1 as a base (previously used Windows 7) maybe that will clear it, not pointing any fingers yet. Generally I would expect the interface device drivers to be suspect in these scenarios, total speculation right now on what is the root cause (and it's pretty likely none of us here are experiencing exactly the same issue by all accounts). I suspect Sonar is not guilty right now but I couldn't find a solution myself (apart from starting again, we will see).

Ok i got it working again there is something definitely wrong with the x3e update i havent tryed the other updates yet.you have to totally uninstall sonar and re install it and i mean totally un install theres another thread that somone tell you how ill copy paste that below this.currently im running the x3a with no problems sofar i tryed everything that gave me an issue and its all good again sofar.... but ill update if anything

Here's what you have to do before you try reinstalling simply uninstalling and re installing doesn't work, well it didnt for me.

Credit for this goes to poster called "scook"

"After running the uninstall for X3, you may want to also clean up the registry by removing the keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR\X3
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR\X3
and the user directory c:\Users\yourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\SONAR X3
NOTE: if you have added any customizations to this directory such as changes to the ini files, master.ins, drum maps etc. you may want to delete this directory after integrating the custom bits into the new X3 Producer user directory."
