Wasn't AD2 supposed to include the Fairfax kit? I upgraded to both X3 yesterday and got the AD2 upgrade, but it didn't install the fairfax kit. Anyone know anything about this?

I contacted XLN Support about this and the answer is no. ADD2 does not include the Fairfax Kit. I'm starting to think that upgrading to EZD2 might be the better deal?

For $79 you get AD2 and all of your adpaks and midi upgraded. For $99 you get the same, plus the adpak of your choice (I chose the Fairfax) and a 25% off coupon to be e-mailed during a Summer sale. You actually get quite a bit of free midi with this upgrade as well. If you can swing it...Get AD2 and EZD2. Best of both worlds.

Thanks for the info. That's good to know but I don't have a lot of ADpaks from XLN. I've only had ADD since the Sonar X3 upgrade. I wish I could get both but it has to be one or the other for now. It's not in the budget for both.

How do you like the Fairfax Kit? If I do go with ADD2 I was thinking about getting "Vintage Drums" ADpak. Gotta check out the videos I guess... Man... I hate being on the fence. Thought I had it all worked out and was ready to upgrade over the weekend.

Once the dust settles on the release for AD2, I can see offers starting to continue the momentum of securing it's position in the market.

I'll get my ADPaks then.

You can go to XLN website and preview all the ADPaks.  Just click on the Pak that you'd like to hear and there are 3 MP3 files you can listen to.  I too ended up getting the Fairfax kit.  It was a toss up between that and the Funk Pak.  The Funk Pak has some really nice sounding drums, but so does the Fairfax.... :)

The kits that come with AD2 also sound really good.  I had already bought the Jazz collection (sticks and brushes) for AD1 a while back...and I'm sure the new kits for AD2 will probably be even better.

I also have several of the kits (including the Jazz kit) for Superior Drummer 2.0.  And have to admit that I have preferred the sounds of SD2...but I haven't had a chance to load up the new kits for AD2 yet.  Will do that tomorrow when I get to the studio.

Thanks. Was just listening to some of the ADpaks. The Vintage Dry Drums sound really good as does Fairfax drums. I have to say though I'm with you in that I really like the sound of SD2. I only have the Avatar kit right now but it's sweet. My other EZX kits work in SD2 so that's cool plus I have a ton of midi drum files from Groovemonkee and others that sound good as well. I'm interested in how the AD2 kits sound in comparison to SD2 so after you've tried them out let me know what you think. Would really appreciate it. I'm going to hold off right now as far as upgrading. I watched another EZD2 video I didn't see and it's very impressive. Decisions...
