Hey guys,

I've been looking around the internet for a guitar tuner plugin that can tune on half-step down. I tried TH3 which is a very useful amp sim by the way, I've been using it alot but it can only tune on standard based on what I've tried so far.

Any recommendations?

Thank you,

Hi Scook thanks, I tried the MTuner, although I can't find a preset for half step down, I was able to use it. For the time being use this until I can find a tuner with half-step down preset.

Thank you,

Looking at MTuner, there are two ways

1) Tune flat by 50 cents
2) Adjust the base frequency knob to 427 Hz

I tried it and it also works. But I prefer to stay at 400hz while fishing for the previous # notes of what string I'm tuning. That way I'm still looking at the center of the tuning meter. Thanks for the info though, I actually don't know the use of the base frequency, I thought it just means that the tuner will listen at 400hz and base the current tune on what it will hear on that frequency.

Concert pitch for A=440, so when you play A 50cents flat i.e. half a step down, A becomes 427. So if you set Base pitch to 427, all the notes are shifted half a step down. So when you play the open A string with the Base pitch set to 427, the Mtuner will be centred at zero cents.

You won't need to adjust this for you other strings, all these will now re-calibrate to half a step down when centered with the base frequency set to 427

I tried to tune in halfstep down through my phone, then plug my guitar to may audio interface and I set the base frequency of MTune to 427. After I tested the MTune it seems like it's still not centered, it was around -50 cent. Am I missing some adjustments here? How can I make it centered?

427/4=106.75
Your tone is reading 103.9, so it's a flat A1 with a 427 base frequency.

Ah, wait, sorry. When you hay half a step, do you mean a semitone, or half a semitone.
I think I may have just messed you around.
If you want it to read as Ab, then you can just use the tuner to read one semitone flat, or set the base frequency A to Ab which is 415.305

really sorry if I misunderstood and confused

Edit: yeah Ab1 =103.82625
Doh, sorry

Peterson Strobosoft. It's not a plugin, but about the best software tuner there is in my opinion.
