Is it a Logitech mouse? They have a well documented problem with developing phantom double clicks. I went through a couple before I realized. Doing some research I found that there is a temporary solution which involves taking the batteries out, disconnecting the bluetooth dongle and pressing all the buttons repeatedly for a minute or two (or something like that. You'd have to look it up). Something to do with residual charges in the capacitors. Anyway it worked for me for about a day before the problem came back. In the end I contacted Logitech support and since it was still under warranty they sent me a brand new mouse (actually due to sloppy organization on their end, they actually sent me
two, but shhhhh....). The new one doesn't have the phantom double click problem.
Of course all of this is moot if you're not using a Logitech mouse and it's not a phantom click problem, in which case I'm talking out of my ass...
