Do you have a controller keyboard hooked up?

If so, are the keys being visibly triggered when you press the relevant key?

Are you actually loading a keyswitched instrument into Play? Not all of the instruments support KS.

What version of Play are you on?

I don't have a keyboard. I can click notes on the play keyboard using the mouse, and doing so I hear the notes and can change the articulation type.
Yes I do have a keyswitch instrument loaded.
And I using the latest version of Play.

Furthermore, How do I get Sonar to change the articulation without and external keyboard?

Gus,

If you've already recorded some MIDI data and want to change articulations within the track, then adding 'control' notes in the PRV is one way to go, as described above.

However, you might try the method described here instead (the relevant part of the post starts at #14):

For real-time composing/recording, I use the method described here (make sure to check out the two excellent YouTube videos):

Hope this helps,

Yup, I am viewing the MIDI data on a piano roll. Do I need to change the velocity at the bottom to something else or is it supposed to work just by inputting C0 for an example? Cuz if that's the case its not doing anything.

Cheers I check out your links soon as.

Set all controller velocities to 100
Make sure your KS notes are accessing the same Midi channel as your regular notes

Can you hear the artics being switched if you click on a keyboard key on the Play interface?
Have you loaded a switchable instrument into Play? Not all of them are. I asked this in post #7

Hi guys,

What was the problem?

Erm, other than me.

The keynotes on plays keyboard where marked at C0 to F#0, however I discovered that they worked at C2. Probably would have found it sooner if I had a piano keyboard plugged in.
However I think I'll go down the route of dding all the required articulations on different play channels and assigning the notes to the correct MIDI channel. Seems the best way for when I need to print the score.
Thanks for all the input and help.
