  • [SOLVED] Bouncing take lane clip?

I have some tracks with multiple take lanes, and I'm using 2 or more of the clips within these in certain locations for a chorusing effect.  After applying an effect to a clip (such as Melodyne editing), is there a way to bounce the clip IN the take lane without bouncing all the take lanes into a single clip?  (When I tried bouncing a single edited clip in a take lane, all active take lanes were simultaneously bounced into a single clip at that location).

I'm sure I can work around this by making copies of the track and keeping only a single active take lane in each one, but was trying to avoid that route.

How are you bouncing? It works for me when I do drag across the clip in a Take Lane to select all the split parts, then choose Clips > Bounce to Clip(s). It bounces just the audio in that Take Lane and leaves all the other Take Lanes alone. Then again I'm using X3e, not X3d.

I thought that's what I did, but I'll give it another whirl in case I had more than one clip selected.

Also, bouncing clips in a take lane used to fail to make the resulted clip stay in the same lane, but it got fixed in X3e (Thank you Cakewalk!). So, if you're still on X3d (your sig. block says so), I recommend installing the latest patch.

I tried it again, and it did NOT combine clips - I must've had more than one clip selected, or edited, and bounced them together unknowingly.  Embarrassing...

I have also noted the clips changing lanes (and the underlying clip disappearing - at least I can't find the original clip) - but had delayed upgrading to X3e as I was trying to wrap up a project.  X3e is definitely on my agenda for tomorrow AM.  Thanks!

Yep, X3e was a great release. All other X3 patches were great too but X3e fixed the MIDI loop-recording notes-dropping bug (when input quantize is enabled) which some people have been complaining about in the KVR forum.

Just an update in case anyone else has the same issue.  After installing the X3e patch this morning, with the same project the bounced take-lane clips that appeared to be in a single clip were both in the same take lane.  I was able to drag one off of the other into separate take lanes.  With X3d the bounced clips both were apparently both in the same take lane, and if I tried to move one I moved both together - so it appeared they had been bounced into a single clip.
