Works here also.

I like that when you do use n to toggle snap on/off in the PRV, up at the right, it turns like a pale blue to let you know if it's on/off.

Not seeing that here...

It remains the solid blue of ON...

I was just thinking...

I do not float or run PRV in the multidock... Instead I chose to run in MSI (forgive me if I'm using the wrong acronym - I use the mode that is of days gone by where PRV replaces the Track View...)

Maybe this is related? I'm gonna go try changing that... I hope I can remember how to get to what I like as the acronym seems to have disappeared from where I remember it to be?

Keni

Just tried it and no... N is still only changing the global, not the PRV snap...

I don't know Keni, I just switched my PRV to MDI mode (undocked and unfloated), and PRV snap is still disabling with N. But it could have something to do with what version that project originated in, and what state the PRV was in when first opened.

Inn any case, you should keep experimenting with preferences and modes and new projects started from the X3 default Normal template, and see if you figure out what's different in you environment.

I'm confused. I just called up a MIDI track, and "N" turned snap on and off. When I turned it on in the PRV and went back to Track view, it was still on and audio clips could be quantized. When I turned it off in Track View, it turned off in the PRV. If I had different snap amounts enabled in the Control Bar and in the PRV, the settings remained as set when turning snap on and off with the "N" key (or using the Snap on/off button in the toolbar).

I am not experiencing Snap persisting in the PRV after turning off Snap. I can even have the Track View and PRV open at the same time, and turn snap on or off to turn it on or off in both tracks simultaneously. I'm using X3e, you're using X3d. Think that could be the difference?

I just noticed the following in the change list for X3e. It seems like quite a bit of attention was paid to snap fixes. Maybe being on X3e is why snap is working as (I think) you expect it to work?

  • Resolved an issue where Snap By in PRV Specific Snap would not work if Snap to MIDI events is also enabled
  • Resolved an issue where Snap To Clips and MIDI Landmarks was not properly snapping to visible clips after scrolling in the Track View
  • PRV Grid Resolution > Follow Snap Settings is now more conscious of PRV Specific Snap override settings
  • If PRV Specific Snap is enabled, the PRV Specific Snap resolution will set the Grid Resolution (this is regardless of if Global Snap is on or off)
  • If PRV Specific Snap is disabled, the Global Snap resolution will determine the Grid Resolution

Could we have the title indicate this is fixed?

Sure. If people usingX3e can't replicate my results, I guess we'll need to investigate further. But it's been bulletproof at this end.

Keni's signature says X3c, but I assumed he's patched to X3e and his sig is just out of date.
