In response to Kenny..
I bought Liquid Notes because it looked like it might be useful and the price was right.
I installed it ok but it wants to d/l Java to make it functional. I had removed anything Java from my computer a while ago b/c of all the malware exploits associated with it so not sure how I want to go forward. But I think you run into those problems only when your browser uses Java (or java script? not sure)

I'm sure someone here knows more about it than me..

@bjorn, kenny, lawajava, and anybody else with concerns about Java...  I will echo mikedocy and his remark #2 above regarding the Java runtime.

The Java runtime and development environment are different from the browser plugin.

I have deleted the Java browser plug from all of my browsers and highly recommend everybody do so.  After Flash, it is one of the most common ways for web exploit kits to mangle your PC.  No self respecting web dev still uses Java in the browser anymore, anyway.  It need to die faster than Flash!!!

The thing about applications written in Java, rather than C++, is that it is not a compiled language.  It needs a Java runtime interpreter (like a VST dll file needs a host DAW app to run ) to execute on your PC.

So you can safely install the Java runtime and run Java apps with the same peace of mind as normal Windows apps, as long as you are certain that the code is to be trusted.  Same applies with any Windows exe program.  Is the code signed and/or do you trust the publisher?

As far as the Java install went, I went to the Oracle Java page and installed the Java runtime before running the Liquid Notes installer.  The install went very smooth.  The Java runtime I used is at https://www.java.com/en/download/

* After the Java install it is best to go into Control Panel, click on the Java Control Panel, then in the security tab uncheck "Enable Java content in the browser".  This should remove any Java web plugins that the installer drops in browsers"

I wanted to get my head around how loopbe30 connects LN to Sonar. I found this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57afXavIO7Q&t=125s
