I typically see the future in nightmares. They don't always start that way. Sometimes, I'll be dreaming about a wonderful, tranquil place and then people will show up. I've tried dreaming about post-apocalyptic wastelands or barren alien worlds, but somebody always blunders into the scene and ruins it. Granted, that's usually me, but that's beside the point.

At times, I've thought about offering warnings about the future. "People. They still exist." I don't want to ruin everyone's day, though. They'll take care of that themselves.

In spite of all of that, there is one comforting thing. At night, I can pull a warm blanket over my head and close out the world. As an added bonus, that last sentence gave me an opportunity to make a blanket statement.

That sounds very 'Billy Pilgrim'

Hi,

Mus read on dreaming. A bit romanticized, but really good.

Carlos Castaneda: The Art of Dreaming. It has some interesting things about dreams, and is probably the best of the books about dreams, ever. It does not take psychological views or points, it just sticks to the meat of the subject, and as such, it becomes very different and special in its own way. It's a bit of a shame that the author gets a bit of flack here and there, but this one book, is above and beyond the imagination ... and kinda leaves the sorcery terminology behind a bit more.

Even better is "Being in Dreaming" by Florinda Donner, however this is from a woman's point of view and too many men here will automatically reject it, is my bet! She was one of the folks around CC, however, I think it was more of a case of him being around people like her.

Or it could eventually slow down to a stop and, very gradually at first, start to pull back together in a Big Crunch.

(Or, more likely, it will just wink out of existence to be replaced by some other universe that the collective create in their minds.)
