I once scored a few million on Defender on the original Atari game console. Would have gotten more if my mother hadn't have had to watch Coronation Street. 

I remember coming home from a gig one night, before we left the town, we hit the convenient mart for some munchies on the long ride home. It was 2:30 AM  or there about..... and there was a kid, looked to be 12 yrs old playing the packman game in the corner. I looked at his score and it was way up there. Lots of spare lives on the bottom. I said something to the effect of "Wow, that way higher than I've ever gotten it"  kid says, "awww, this is nothing...."   he says he has to go and simply walks away and out the door. He says ... "take it mister.... it's all yours"...  It was high enough that I got to put my initials on the top 10. My assumption was that the other top 10 was all the kids initials since they were all the same.

I managed to die in just a few short minutes.... never got past that screen.
