I finally took the plunge and updated to Sonar X3 Producer from Sonar 8 Producer.  I downloaded all of the files,  and now I can't install it because Cakewalk hasn't sent me the serial numbers yet.  So now I guess I'm suppose just sit and play the waiting game.  The webpage said it would take 15 minutes to update.  The email said it would take 45 minutes.

It's been 2 hours. Smdh.  This is starting off just great.

The numbers are not in your store account?

No.  Sonar X3 Producer shows up in my store account,  but the Serial Number box is empty,  and the "RegCode" box is empty.  The "Download Link" box has the link "Download" in it,   and that will send me to the page with all of the new downloads,  which I have already downloaded.  That's it.

Hi KB:
Make sure you check the entire list in you Cakewalk store.  On my list it has:
Sonar X3 Producer   -   download
Dimension Pro   serial #
Melodyne          serial #
Rapture            serial #  THEN

Yeah it can take a few hours to update sometimes, but they will turn up. Patience Grasshopper.

Well,  it's still not there.  It's only been 6 hours.  I guess I can keep waiting.

Update:

Somewhere after 7 a.m.,  my serial numbers for X3 were available,  but I was still missing some of the other serial numbers for Dim Pro,  Rapture,  etc...

A couple of calls to Cakewalk Tech Support solved all my problems.  The wait times weren't bad, and the guy on the phone was really eager to help me out.  Kudos to Cakewalk's tech support.  My faith in Cakewalk has been restored.

So can you change your fiasco (a thing that is a complete failure, especially in a ludicrous or humiliating way) title to [SOLVED]

No.  I won't.  Because having to wait all night for a serial number that should have been emailed to me immediately is,  IMHO "a thing that is a complete failure".  I recently updated Ableton Live and Reason,  and I received an email confirmation immediately.  My accounts on both of those sites were also updated immediately.  As soon as the downloads were completed,  I was up and running without the need to call tech support for anything at all.  My Cakewalk Store Account is still missing some of the registration codes that tech support emailed me.  So,  while I do give credit to tech support,  the overall experience of purchasing Sonar X3 Producer from the online store has not been a painless experience.  One other thing,  all of the "Readme" files that were part of the download instructions page did not work.  When I tried to open them in Adobe,  I got an error message that said that the files were corrupted.

Sorry to hear about the delay with all of this. A few things I figured I'd not in case it helps to clear up confusion:

Melodyne Essential and XLN Audio Addictive Drums will not show registration codes in your account. The columns on your store page are a bit generic, but in the case of these products you authorize them with third parties so it's normal for the columns to be blank. I just wanted to mention this since these will always be empty.

I noticed you redeemed the PCCL and CA-2A plug-ins and then registered them about 20 minutes later. Technically speaking purchasing through our store and redeeming/registering products are two separate systems. We have a maintenance routine that merges all of this data together each night, so while these registration codes do not show up yet they should soon. If they're not in your account tomorrow shoot me a PM or hit up our customer service department and they should be able to get it squared away.

Also, the ReadMe file is an .rtf file. You should be able to open in Wordpad or with Microsoft Word. Really its just a document that tells you to go here if you need more instructions: http://www.cakewalk.com/x3install
