The times they are ... different..A few hours of waiting is a disaster now :o)
I remember registering my first Pro Audio by air-mail. Note: AIR-mail, lightning fast and modern.

I've never seen a ReadMe-file of pdf-format in any of the software I've bought.

Really.  Reason, Live, PSP, Native Istruments,  just about everything I just purchased had all of their info in PDF.

And what does Air Mail have to do with receiving an email with your serial numbers? Smdh.

Sorrysorry. Don't mean to irritate. I just meant what I wrote with a smiley. "Few hours waiting is a fiasco now" and compared that to registering by mail. IIRC, it took over two weeks to get a confirmation that I'm entitled to
CW support etc. and a member of the fine family :o)

Isn't that the entire point of having digital downloads?  The internet with high speed connections were made for "instant gratification".   The next time you sit in front of your television to watch a movie "On Demand",  just let me know how acceptable it is to wait 16 hours for the movie to it start.  Let's not forget the fact that the website stated that my information would be available within 15 minutes,  and the email that I received said that the numbers would be available within 45 minutes,  yet it took 16 hours.  I didn't set the timetable for delivery,  Cakewalk did.

If the website stated that it could take up to 24 hours for serial number delivery,  then I would have never started this thread.
