Hi,

i installed X3e when it came out but didn't had a lot of time to play with it.

I am seeing the following strange behavior with the track solo button.

1). Select any track and "solo" it. The button turns green and I can see it
turned on in the control bar. It solo the track as expected

2) Turn off the solo mode. All the tracked are now "silenced" and will stay
like this until I do one of the following:

A). turn off the solo button, which stayed on after The track was "un-soloed".

B) turn on/off the solo button on another track.

This is an on-going behavior for me.

As this been seen before? i don't mind to formally report the scenario if it hasn't been.

Mario

This is an ongoing behavior for me

I use the tracks solo buttons mostly, and a quick test shows no problem - I do have some backup tracks permanently muted.

I'm not sure what do you mean by solo mode, if you mean the control bar's Solo button, turning this off while one track is soloing will turn solo off and all regular tracks resume playback.

I have to admit Mario I'm a little confused by your post. Is only one track soloed?

I have never had a problem with solo as you seem to describe.

Just a couple of questions here.  Are you soloing Audio tracks, MIDI tracks, Synth tracks, or Busses?  Are there other tracks/busses that are soloed or muted when this is happening?

It seems to be working as expected here for me, but I may not be doing exactly what you are and I could probably use a little more specific instructions on what you are doing to get this to happen.

I would also like to ask, are you only using the buttons on SONAR's interface or are you also using key commands (like you would if you wanted to copy something:  Ctrl+C)?

Well,

I know all the workings of the mute/solo/record buttons and their intended behavior so
this is why I asked the question, not necessarily in a nice and  clear english form, since
I was finding the behavior "strange".

But I happened to open a new project yesterday and guess what.....things are working
as expected.  I now suspect that this is a "project specific" behavior. Over the years I've
encountered things like that involving different functionalities and when it happens the only
way out I have found is to move everything to a newly created project, with all the hassles
associated with such an approach.

Oh well....it's software and I hate wasting time debugging things.....(-:

Cheers!

How about this :

Solo on Drum Bus - only Bus can be heard..correct.

(add) Solo on Bass Track - do you expect Drum Bus and Bass Track to sound together ??

edit : for clarity, Bass Track goes direct to master.

Bumping this up.. can anyone help to test a Bus solo + Track solo should produce sound ? - in my case there is no sound.
