  • Wave file output from master SonarX1 and UA25EX? All MIDI tracks.

Until this month, I have been using Creative Wave Studio, to record the output from SonarX1.

I am about to Install Windows7 64bit, and delete the Audigy2ZS from this computer, leaving just the UA-25EX for sound. I don't think the Audigy2zs CD will let me put Creative Wave Studio into the computer without a Creative sound-card present.

What is the name of the 'Creative Wave Studio' equivalent for the UA25EX? I have the "Cakewalk Production Plus Pack", and "UA-25 EX Drivers" CDs sitting in front of me. I don't want to clog up this computer with ALL of the stuff on them, I just want a "Simple Wave Studio equivalent" to record the ones and zeros before they get to the UA25EX DAC, and save them as a "wav" file on my computer.

In the past when I hit the output to wave file thing for the 'Master bus', it did nothing at all, lol. So I reverted to Wave Studio for making final mixes. record 'What you hear' there, and then click 'play' here, lol.

That sounds like a weird and unnecessary workflow (if I understood it correctly).
Do you mean you can not export audio?
"Output to wavefile" sounds like a strange term to me. Have you read the help files about exporting?

If you have been using Audigy and UA25EX simultaneously there's more than enough begging for troubles. Ditch the Audigy and use the UA with its native ASIO drivers.

Yes, I want to essentially hit play on the entire 'project' and have SonarX (or separate wave recorder) ship the mix-down 'Master' output audio to a wave file. I know it sounds simple, I just failed to follow the tutorial vids correctly somehow.

I was keeping the Audigy, so Wave Studio wouldn't complain about recording what was coming out of SonarX, lol.

I just pooled the Audigy, and now SonarX wont start after doing a output config thing, lol. brb.

Hitting Play on the Transport is not going to create a wave file in SONAR. To create a wave file from a SONAR project use the Export function found in the File menu.

OK, set the output buffer way to high, all better now, and no skipping/missing notes. I cant wait for that ram and Win7 to arrive. I've run out of ram, lol.

Where was I, "O" I tried something like that export thing about a year ago (as I had seen in a vid), and the window that was supposed to open up, didn't appear. So I reverted to using play on that Transport to get the final mix out of sonar, and used Creative Wave Studio to record it.

I was just curious if the UA-25 EX came with something like Wave Studio, I don't just use it for recording the output of Sonar. I also use it with something called "fldigi", and for adjusting the levels/pan of wave files and instrument samples.

I'll go and read up on that "Export" thing again, tho I vaguely remember it only working with a single Virtual synth track, not the 'master' bus output.

Exporting is one of the most straight forward things in SONAR. You don't need videos to understand it, it's just a few simple  lines in the help files, gdmit! You need to struggle to fail. It's much more simple than any form of recording. Unless it's possible to mess it somehow by using something like the Audigy....

There are a lot of options available when exporting audio in Sonar.  While the choices may seem overwhelming sometimes, everything that you need to create a wave file of your project is in Sonar.  There is no need for your Creative Wave Studio or Audigy.  Once you have your project mixed and playing how you want it just select Export-audio from the menu bar.  You may want to start with the preset called 'What you hear' when you first learn how to do this.  Once you have done this once or twice I think you will find that it is much less complicated than it seems.  You do need to give the export file a name.  Pay attention to what directory your file is being created in so that you can find it later.

O.K. I Highlighted the section of the song I wanted to export, and then went to export it to audio...

"The specified selection did not contain any audio data..."

So you can only export a mix if it only contains "Audio tracks"?

You can only export a project if it has audio.  From your last post it sounds like you are using soft-synths.  The synths must be selected if this is the case.  They are what creates the audio in a MIDI only project.

took a sec to upload that screen-cap. So How do I select the synths? All of them?

left clicking, only seams to select one at a time. I take it I cant just (left-click-hold) highlight all the midi stuff in the track-view-thing?
