  • Problems with Sonar X3 Producer and and Vacuumsound ADT

I frequently use Vacuumsound's ADT plug-in () in Sonar X3 (and previous versions).

The plug-in worked perfectly until I upgraded to X3 Producer (from X2). The problems are that 1) the plug-in GUI doesn't properly respond, and 2) none of the settings seem to be saved.

The weird thing is, I can open a project in X2 and it runs fine. I'm running Window 7 Pro x64. This is the only problem I've had so far in X3.

Anyone else using this plug-in in X3 or had any older plug-ins not work properly in X3? If so, any workarounds? Thanks.

I meant to add that this problem happens in both the 32 and 64 bit versions of Sonar X3.

After upgrading to X3 make sure to reset and rescan VST plug-ins http://www.cakewalk.com/S...ommended-for-Upgraders in both 32bit and 64bit versions.

Thanks, scook. I should have added that I did reset all plug-ins and rescan, but it's still a problem.

It has been years since I played with this one. The plug-in does reset when the UI is closed. The only way to preserve the setting would be to freeze or bounce the track. Even presets won't help.

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like you're having a similar issue. Oddly enough, this problem isn't present in X2.

Major changes were made to plug-in handling in X3.

Yeah, I saw that there were some VST changes. Sucks, though, to have a plug-in that worked fine in X2 not work properly in X3. Makes me wonder if there are issues with other plug-ins I've used before?

I played around some more, and found that if I bit-bridge the 32 bit version of the ADT plug-in in the 64 bit version of X3, it'll save settings, etc. Oddly enough, the 32 bit version of ADT still misbehaves in the 32 bit version of X3. This leads me to think there's some update in how X3 handles certain VSTs...

The BitBridge isolates the plug-in from the host which may explain the change in behavior. Currently I don't use any plug-ins that rely on the generic UI so have no recent experience with them.

Did you try using it in the pro channel fx chain? Worth a try...
