Hey!

Anyone out there using Gobbler yet?

Any advantages of using Gobbler compared to have your Cakewalk Projects folder on other services like Gdrive etc. Gobbler is quite expansive in comparasion. While 50Gb costs 8USD/month 100Gb costs 4.99USD/month on Gdrive.

One advantage I can think of is the auto organisation by the Gobbler integration.

Select project and backup or send, no need to worry about the nitty gritty of which files need to go. Sure you can just upload the project folder via another service but then all the unused stuff goes as well.

I installed Gobbler about a year ago.  It's a great concept. You have all your project files perfectly organized.
Unfortunately I can't use it because the uploading time for files to back up  is extreeeeeeemly long.
It takes hours and hours to upload a project file of an average project (let's say 1 GB)
I've contacted customer service (great service b.t.w.) and they said the servers are too far away from my location.
So, for us europeans or british it's not a solution I believe.
Maybe someone has different experiences...?

Think I might just place my Cakewalk Projects folder on my Gdrive and upgrade that one to larger size instead.

At first glance, I find Drop Box to be 'more' handy as I work on the same project at 2 different locations. Having said that, im probably wrong and should read the finer details on Gobbler.

I do not recommend Google drive. I tried this myself recently. All my files uploaded fine, but it will only let you download 2 gb at a time, and won't help you know which files were already downloaded to essily break up your downloads into 2-gb chunks. I found it nearly impossibilble to work with for larger projects.

Aha, that is an interesting point you have there. You sure that problem exist for the paid version of Gdrive? Good info. I will dig some more.

If you are willing to manually manage your project uploads and downloads then gdrive and dropbox are ok.
Keep in mind however that a disadvantage of google stuff is there is zero support. If you are running a studio and something goes wrong you are on your own.

I have a paid G-drive account.  This is a known issue that you will easily find more info if you google it.  I only learned about it after bought a monthly subscription as it never occurred to me there would be such a restriction.  I am curious to learn more about Gobbler as I am more than willing to pay a but more for a system if it works efficiently.

Just curious about how long you have to keep the session/Sonar actually open to back things up?  I assume the app must be open to upload to Gobbler, and I assume it'd be a bad idea to actually be working when uploading.

I manually backup to a hardrive at the end of the night.  Doesn't take much time to do so, and I can safely leave my PC and have it move things over.  Simple enough.  But the storage space is often an issue as sessions grow in size and I am becoming busier and busier.

I have a Dropbox account for working with clients, does Gobbler allow us to mixdown and upload mixes automatically in some way?  What about sharing them among selected email addresses?
