I currently have NI Komplete 10.  I was just wondering how, price not being a factor, the AIR Complete Bundle 3 compares?  I love Hybrid 3 , so I'm curious how the rest of the AIR stuff stacks up.  Would anyone recommend the AIR bundle over Komplete?  For ease of maintenance and simplicity, I'd prefer to stick with just one synth package from one manufacturer and really learn to use those synths.

Most of my needs are acoustic piano, acoustic and synth bass, synth leads (both arpeggiated and not arpeggiated) and pads.  I like to design my own sounds but I also like a relatively simple interface (Massive is a good example).

Most of them are quite satisfactory.  Different "Palette" so to speak...

Would it be a ridiculous move to purchase the AIR bundle and sell Komplete?

I know I can just install both but I'm going for simplicity so I don't want to do that.

The reason I'm thinking about it is I love Hybrid 3. . . that's the first synth I reach for when I am looking for a synth sound.  I think it has a phenomenal sound.  I'm not sure about the rest of AIR's offerings though.

Some of the NI stuff I find a little bit too in-depth.  Like too many menus and options. . . I get stuck messing around and tweaking and it breaks my creative flow.

Yep, stupid. You'd miss Massive, FM8, Reaktor and all derivatives like Molekular.
Hybrid 3 (and Vacuum Pro or even Loom) are nice indeed, but in another league.
And you'd be without Kontakt. Let me repeat that. You'll be without Kontakt.
Also, you can find thousands of Massive presets all over the net. No work.
Conclusion, hang on to Komplete and get Omnisphere2. Done deal.

LOL OK thanks.  I think the GAS was tempting me to make a purchase.  I'll stick with Komplete.  I didn't even think about FM8. . . love that synth and there's no equivalent in the AIR offering.

Hybrid 3 is the only synth I feel is exceptional anyway, and that's mainly due to its step sequencer.  I can always install it down the road if I can't figure out how to accomplish the same thing in FM8 or Massive.

And if I recall correctly Hybrid 3 is only half a gig or so. Shouldn't add too much to your disk.

True.  I'm really trying to limit the VST's on my computer though and get really good with a handful.  I just did a reformat and before I had too many synths and VST's and I didn't really learn to use anything to its full potential.

I also own Rapture Pro and Z3TA2 and decided not to install those either for the same reason.

In reality, I should be able to use any one synth for all my needs, even if it's the freeware Synth1.  So I already have more than enough with the Komplete 10 bundle.

Maybe add SynthMaster. Cheap and able.
And I would keep z3ta+2 as it's small and handy, while Rapture Pro is 10 gig large.

I second Fleer. Get synthmaster. I bought rapture pro and instantly regret it. Zeta 2 I hardly use. Another synth that I use all the time is Uvi synth anthology 2.

I certainly understand where the OP is going with this topic ...I just came from it through the opposite direction ...

Currently I do not own any NI products at all ...I won't say I like being shut out from the whole NI ecosystem ...
Some day when the funds permit comfortably I would like to own NI Komplete 10 or what ever number it goes up to at the time of purchase ...or so I would like to think

The thing is , for my music I happen to feel that it was a Godsend that I was able to get the whole AIR Complete bundle recently for peanuts ... I'm super happy w the sounds it brings to the table and I consider the bundle to be one of the best things I have purchased regardless of price point or origin of software manufacturer...
Finally  I could fill in a lot of gaps concerning the availability of having some cool sounding instruments and plugs  that I did not have available from everything else I have on hand for music creation ...

that's my story and I'm sticking to it
