o.k. that helps some its software for workstations. now guitar trackspro-3 is it sonar or pro tools or ?what I am using an hp-42 laptop 3.00gm ,guitar trackspro-3,amplitube-le,ableton-le,intone guitar express,an m-audio fast track usb.do I need to download drivers someware to get all of this to work togather. or a rewire of some kind?
SONAR & ProTools are two totally different DAW's. All those applications you list, Amplitube, Ableton, etc.. are each their own program and they all do different things. The M-audio Fast track is your audio interface and is used to get your instrument into the program. Not familiar with Intone Gtr Express, but I see that its an FX processor. So you likely can use that as a plugin within Guitar Tracks.
As far as drivers go, you need to check each program as they all have their own set of requirements. There are audio drivers that the Fast Track will use, which is probably ASIO drivers (double check that tho, i'm just guessing). Rewire is something totally different and is protocol -or a way to get files from from one application to another. This page is super for checking on Rewire:
http://en.wikiaudio.org/Category:Rewire That is an awful lot of programs to try to master at one time Lenny. In all honesty just one can take weeks or months to get a decent handle on how it works. I would strongly suggest starting with Guitar Tracks if that's going to be your main DAW. Once you get a feel for how it works, start slowly with the other applications.
There is much, much information available on all of these things you mention, all you have to do is look for it. Google is an amazing tool when utilized! Try it.
