I have one of Jim Roseberry's PCs.

This is the motherboard

Earlier this week, I started having the issue of the monitor showing up double. I'm not sure if it was a Windows update or what. I did switch it from DisplayPort to HDMI. But I switched it back too. For some reason, the computer thinks there are 2 monitors.

I tried disabling the graphics from the motherboard in the BIOS. I even disabled the graphics the BIOS depends on and had to take the battery out of the motherboard so I could see the BIOS settings. :-)

For a touch monitor it needs both a HDMI or DisplayPort cable and a USB cable to carry the touch info to the computer. Actually the monitor works without the HDMI cable all together and then there is only the one instance.

It's just weird. I think I'm going to stop fighting it and wonder if some day it will fix. I think it's having to do all the graphics twice, but I'm not even sure on that. I could just unplug the HDMI cable.

I guess what I'm asking is... anyone else? I know there are other touch users on the forum. Anyone else see this starting recently?

Oddly, I think the right thing to do is to unplug the HDMI and just use the USB. I wonder if it still used the graphics card at all?

Ok. I got it fixed. The problem was that the monitor started showing up under USB Display Adapters after the installation of the latest driver as well as under the regular drivers.

To fix it, you have to disable the USB Display Adapter.
