Those of us who check this forum late in the day thank you for your work!!  As a matter of fact, you guys are so effective I had assumed this forum had some how escaped spammers altogether.

That Far Side is PERFECT at capturing the absurdity of it all.
 
I remember Dionne Warwick had a Psychic Friends hotline, and somehow her 'psychic abilities' COMPLETELY failed to see that her house and about $100,000 was going to get burglarized.
 
That pretty much made everyone go 'hmmmmm', and that was the end of her cashing in on suckers.

Off-topic post here but you reminded me of something I had forgotten.
I  agree with your statement re: big-chain music stores. Try to find a decent high-end non-Fender/non-Gibson guitar at one (OK they have one PRS in the back)  . However, when I was getting back into recording after a 15 year hiatus, I was at Guitar Center getting a cable or something and struck up a conversation with the dude at the Keyboard counter. I mentioned I was unable to get my freebie Cubase LE working reliably and after a lengthy conversation he suggested I try what he used ...wait for it...Sonar. This was in early 2008 so I did a little research and then picked up Sonar 7 Studio and never looked back. Thanks Mitch at GC Colorado Blvd!
