I also have a new MB Pro; 15" Retina, 16GB Ram, 512GB flash. My PC that was running Sonar (and still does), is now a slave via VEPro. I totally love the Mac environment as well. However, I run Cubase 7 and Logic because the video features are so much better for scoring to picture. If Bootcamp handles Sonar X3d well, I'd consider it again.....if the video features are really worth it. That sucks about Play, it is a big VI in my templates. Do you know if VEPro works well with X3 in Bootcamp?

Hi Jeremy - good to see you here on the Sonar forum.  I tested VEPro and it does work well in Bootcamp.  And Jett was able to get Play to work via VEPro in Bootcamp.  Unfortunately play crashed VEPro on my system. 
 

Quick update - Sonar is running better under Fusion6.  I'm giving it 4 of the 8 cores and 3GB of memory.  One issue is that Fusion doesn't seem to recognize the native Mac audio devices and it doesn't automatically detect headphones.  It will pump sound into the headphones, but at the wrong impedance or something and the sound quality is affected - not as bright as it should be.

Brad, would you be so kind as to highlight your work flow for running Sonar in Parallels and pulling old projects into Logic?  You can't just copy/paste per se can you?  I've got Sonar on Parallels myself (but obviously no pro audio interface support), and would like to do the same.  Thanks!

Sorry, I haven't been around much lately. I was using Sonar in Parallels to open projects that were only audio. No plugins running at all. I exported the session as a protools file then opened it in Logic. This was a major pain, and never worked well. Now I'm just dragging the audio into logic from the Sonar audio folder. This is still not ideal, but it gets us by for now. I think I'm about to install OSX on my main recording machine and just start off in Logic. 
 
Unless Cakewalk develops a Mac version, or Scott manages to get this working, I guess I'm done with Sonar for a while. It's a shame. I'll miss some things about it. Logic is cool though.
