I have Nectar 2, but not used the harmony feature a great deal. I have not used the MIDI functionality at all, or tried to capture the harmonies it creates (so not sure if it even can). IMO, Melodyne is a better tool for this functionality, since I prefer to put harmonies in their own tracks with their own effects; plus can pile them on till the cows come home to create full choir effects.

That said, Nectar 2 is a very powerful plug-in for vocal work and is significantly more capable than Nectar Elements due to the additional effects chaining/capabilities it has. The Pitch Editor and Breath Control included with the Production Suite version are not overly useful tools to me, but Nectar 2 itself has gotten a lot of use.
