From the screen capture it looks like you might have multiple "lanes" for each clip?
Each take (or lane as we now call them) has its own Gain and Pan.

No. Each clip has one Pan and Gain envelope. Any of the selected menu item controls the envelope of any clip. And the appearance of multiple items associated with the overlay of one clip to another.
Maybe it's a graphic glitch?

Naturally clip automation creates one envelope per clip. If you only want one envelope on the track, you need use track automation. Unfortunately you can't automate track gain. The alternative is to put an ampty FX chain at the front of the ProChannel to act as a gain stage going into the FX (assuming that's why you're using Gain instead of Volume), or bounce the audio clips together so you only need one clip envelope; just be sure to remove the existing envelopes first to prevent their being rendered into the bounce.

ampty = typoed empty. But it looks like I was mistaken about the multiple menu items. I'm not sure what's causing that right offhand.
