Mix works here Tom, a number of points have been raised above so... Thanks for sharing.

Hi Tom,

I love your song, vocal and how you played and arranged this. I really liked the octaves on the lead voc.
Nice feel. I am listening on my work PC (crappy little speakers). I will check it out on my system tonight.

Tom,

Good song.   Only suggestion I would have would be to pull back the lower vocal and maybe push the top vocal up a hair.  The rest is awesome.

Cool! I think I will also take the suggestion of pulling back the lower vocal a bit, thanks Mark.

Rimshot, thanks much! Hope it translates!

Wookie, thanks and I hope this one got baked a "little" less hot? I intend to go back to some others and ratchet down the limiting a tad!

JamesG, it's a good reference to Coldplay because like you, I'm not obsessed nor particularly impressed with them, but after writing this song, I could see them doing it, much much better of course, and at the Super Bowl!  Ha Ha.
And if anyone knows who Jon Hopkins is, he's one of my favorites and he has written all kinds of stuff for them.

cheers,
-Tom

Great tune, excellent pop and the chord changes and the vocal lines weaving through them are just great. Everything sounds pretty great to my ear, except that I agree with the comment about pushing the lower vocal back some to get some clarity with the main vocal. Great song!

Hey eSoul, very dynamic song.  I like the way it changes around.  It forces the listener to focus in.  The french horn sounding thing is nice, and then the piano comes in, cool.  Then it all kind of winds down, and the driving beat comes back in with the staccato  strings,

Well crafted song fella.  Inspirational to me as to how to mix thing up a bit. A lesson in what is possible.

Vocal has a weird effect. Not sure it's really needed. Would love to hear the song with less of the FX. The drums seem a tad to high in the mix for this type of song (or maybe just too dry). All personal taste mind you.

Not much to add to the mix comments above - vocals and drums are mainly it for me.

The song itself is really well done. The chord changes and melodies are very nice, and I like those repeated staccato string lines (Coldplay-ish).    Overall I think it's different yet still familiar.

Hey emeraldsoul,

I really liked the song, I'm digging the vibe. Some aspects are reminiscent of Coldplay, some of their less dramatic songs. The content of the lyrics definitely reinforces that feeling. My ear was kind of hoping for a more intense arc to the song, but that's just my conditioned expectations I suppose. Anyway, awesome job and keep it up.
