In x3e
When I clone a MIDI track, SONAR crashes.

It's okay to copy the audio track.
However, if I clone a MIDI track containing a MIDI clip, Sonar X3e crashes.

It does not occur with X3d.
The same phenomenon is happening to someone?

it happened to me in X1.  I discovered it was the driver for the Yamaha synth I was using because it was unique to ONLY that midi track.  I know I've cloned midi tracks very recently in X3e and experience no crashes. 

Well, I just opened a project I had created entirely within X3, and cloned a midi track, with no issues.
 
Please elaborate on the nature of the project, and on the track, and anything else that might be relevant that you can think of.

In my case
I added as instroment track a Dimension pro.

I enter the MIDI clip.

When I clone the instroment track, Sonar x3e crashes.

Error is Exception code: c0000005

I think that is an indication of an access violation.
 
1.  Try launching Sonar by right-clicking on the icon and then clicking on Run As Administrator.  This is not the same thing as simply having a user account that is an administrator, rather Run As Administrator grants higher execution privileges, and this may resolve this issue.
 
2.  I don't like using simple instrument tracks, partly because of my using lots of Kontakt multi-racks and partly due to occasional weirdness with using simple instrument tracks.
 
3.  I use separate audio and midi tracks, not simple instrument tracks, and I cloned a midi track in X3 with no issue at all.
 
4.  I am too sleepy to think of a 4, so never mind :)

I sill have same problem.
Just cloned a MIDI Track that MIDI data is included, it crashes.
I think X3E is or not can not use the Japanese version of WINDOWS8.

I have the same problem. X3e crashes when I clone an instrument track linked to Dimension Pro containing midi data. (It doesn't crash if I remove the midi data first). Tried running as Administrator - same problem.

just tried this myself and no problem...........sorry, can't be of any help.....

Are you running Sonar X3e 32-bit or 64-bit?
 
Make sure D-Pro is running the same architecture as Sonar.

Simple Instrument track Dim Pro with Step Seq: I could not get track to clone.
 
Same project, everything the same as above except not "Simple Instrument" track and I could clone it.
 
I think Sharke had some problems with this before.
