Still having problems. I replaced the following dll's. bit In another post I believe I was told to replace them in the C:\Window\SysWOW64 location and below I am told to replace them in the C:\Windows\System32. Where should these files be replaced? See Below Solution 10. Do I have to do this in safe mode as well.

***************
This error message may occur on 64 bit operating systems when the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package is not properly configured.
1. Replace these files. mfc100.dll, mfc100u.dll, msvcr100.dll, msvcp100.dll and msvcr100_clr0400.dll  They can be found at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id...  Please save these files to any location on your PC;
2. Please reboot your computer in Safe Mode  - Restart the computer;  - Press the "F8" key (several times before Microsoft Windows begins to load; you need to press "F8" until you will be displayed a text menu;  - Select "SAFE MODE";  Note: for Windows 8, you can hold the Shift key while going to Power Off and clicking on Restart option
3. Access C:\Windows\System32;
4. Locate the 5 files you have downloaded and extracted;
5. Next, copy all those files to C:\Windows\System32 replacing the current ones;
6. Reboot in normal mode

Solution 10   This solution only works for a 64-bit system. It requires replacing files is system32 directory so be careful. Only attempt this solution if you are confident and if other solutions have failed. When Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package is not properly configured it may cause 0xc00007b error. Firstly download the zip file and decompress it. Reboot in safe mode and go to C:\Windows\System32. copy all files included in the zip package (mfc100.dll, mfc100u.dll, msvcr100.dll, msvcp100.dll and msvcr100_clr0400.dll) to C:\Windows\System32 replacing the current ones. After that reboot in normal mode.   If all the solutions above haven't worked i would consider backing up data and performing a clean install of windows.

Just got off the phone with Cakewalk Tech support. They had me uninstall Melodyne and reinstall with a couple of changes to the install process. Still doesn't work. They advised me to do a clean install of Sonar X3 and gave me a couple of registry keys to delete. Getting a liiiiitttle frustrated here.

I have to admit it's a complete mystery to me too. Nobody has had this fail so spectacularly so far. I appreciate your efforts to communicate what you've tried. Hopefully it will help someone else.

Well, I am king of the Spectacular Fail. I will keep you posted.
Thanks for all the help. This is definitely the place to be if you've got questions. I've gotten a lot of suggestions and assistance. I'm on a mission now.

I'm done. I did a complete clean install of Sonar X3 producer. I was advised by Cakewalk tech support to back up my registry and delete some registry keys to do the clean install. Again, when I was re installing the software 0x00007b error came up. Still no Melodyne. I replied to tech support email and I will call them one last time tomorrow. It appears no one can figure this one out.

Just for sanity sake here. I am assuming you downloaded the X3 Producer files? Please verify the MD5 hash (thumbprints) from the X3 Producer installation page (scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Producer link) versus the ones on your machine. Specifically these 4 files (copied and pasted from that page, which apply to the Producer version only):

02_SONAR_X3_Producer.part1.exe  fe5d24de89c0d2bf7c8ef0fff85e0abd
02_SONAR_X3_Producer.part2.exe  5128ef47dada335c196e179c596f32f0
02_SONAR_X3_Producer.part3.exe  5c27dbeb9fcf17151e1ccb6ae9f1f542
02_SONAR_X3_Producer.part4.exe  d822bc697796d90c5606193e027f89dd

I use a free program called "FastSum" which calculates the MD5 hash values from files on your machine (there are other programs which will also calculate MD5 values). What this does is verify that the files on your machine are identical to those on the server they came from (i.e. the MD5 values from your downloads match the server).

Your issue is so off the wall that it is borderline crazy, but I had a download error with X2 which produced similar results. The X3 Producer installation should install all files needed to run Melodyne Essential, so I am concerned that one of the download files may be corrupt, and this is an easy thing to check quickly.

Have you tested your RAM? I had INSANE installation problems on a Mac once due to a RAM stick issue. Had to test from the CLI, otherwise a RAM tester would need to use RAM.

If it's any consolation, you in the running for "weirdest problem so far of 2014."

+1 to mettelus, I'd try to download the installation files again.
