I cannot reproduce. Here are my steps would it be possible to revise them if incorrect?

Create new project in Sonar X3D.
Insert Battery soft synth.
Bring up Pro Channel Console
At the top of the channel (1) for the battery soft synth, observe gain set at zero.
Change gain knob to -17.
Drag a drum loop MIDI pattern into the track.
Press the loop button (so it turns blue) and set the marker points appropriately for a repetitive loop.
Turn on the metronome for playback.
Play for five minutes.

Pretty much the same but one thing I've noticed as well with Battery is that if your samples "out" to channels 1/2, it diverts back to "master" after each load of the project.  Maybe set to 3/4 or 5/6...

Gain was -1.7, not -17...

How would I record a loop say 5 times to give you a listen?

Anyway, thanx to the other guys acknowledging the bug - at least I can continue now without issues :)

If anybody can add actually steps to #10 to make the issue reproducible it would be good to know. So far can't repro. Thanks.

There was something discussed about the Gain knob and instrument tracks a while back.   I don't recall the details, but I'm pretty sure it is/was a bug.

Please can you link me to the discussion?I feel I have the same absurd problem but not with Battery 4 only, also Arturia Spark but im thinking that the problem is with a lot of plugs (if not all!) and seems related to delay/latency compensation.
That's really a weird thing...how a bug like that can exist and still call "professional" a daw with all that crap?

Well it would be nice if we are given steps to repro this issue so people can test this out, the steps I guessed in #10 didn't cut the mustard. If we have clear steps others can test whether the OP's issue is related to their issue (and I can document this).

Cheers...

The 'Master' output in Battery 3 is its own master output, not the same as Sonar's Master output, and is simply its naming standard for outputs 1 and 2.

OK I can only reproduce this in battery, so do we assume this is a NI Battery bug?

STEPS

Create new project in Sonar X3D.
Insert Battery soft synth.
Drag a MIDI drum loop into the track and loop for one minute.
Open battery plugin
Bring up a kit.
Bring down battery gain to -1.7db or near (within the plugin).
Close plugin
Open plugin

EXPECTED
Battery gain is -1.7db

ACTUAL
Battery gain is 0 db

Wow this actually explains problems I've had with Battery as well. Sheesh, ya learn something new every day.

There is a setting in Battery 3. (I don't have Battery 4) which might be related.
On the 'File' menu. Bring up the 'options' page.
The 'field': Use CC7/CC10 Data on Master Volume/Pan---This can be selected to be "OFF" for best use with Sonar.

Wasn't this problem fixed in X3e? The release notes mention a MIDI looping drift fix but it doesn't go into the details. Personally I don't see the need to use the console gain knob on a synth track, you can always trim the gain from the synth itself.
