Hi Folks,
I have almost come to the end of my 13 song project, and i am cleaning things up before mastering. I have a few songs where there was way to much time at the beginning of some of the songs. Since i had recorded silence from the beginning i was able to delete the extra whole measures with the delete hole option. (selected all tracks, dragged the marker from a whole measure to the beginning hit edit, delete, and checked "delete hole") It worked great, all my tracks are in time and lined up. However the length of time (or measures) i delete has left a "darker grey" line of the same amount of time (or measures) in the top of the Time Line (Just above the tracks) how do i get rid of this line?
Since i am a total FREAK about clean tracks going to mastering, i want these tracks and songs as super clean as i can, and i want that line gone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ...Dumbfounded Canuck

Cheers,
Rob.

I've never used the delete hole and I seem to remember it being reported here as buggy? don't quote me.

Hopefully you have been backing up and if you can return to a version before you used the delete hole try what I do.

When I have live songs that had a long space before the drummer counted in.

I used ctrl A to select all and cut at the place I want the song to start. Delete the empty measures.
Then ctrl A to highlight all again and drag them back to the start. If the song was done to the clock I make sure to set snap to grid first.

Does the darker area remain even after re-launching SONAR or the PC? I've sometimes experienced something similar, and in those cases it's most likely been just something the video-card didn't refresh, and everything was back in normal soon.

Thank you John and Kalle, I am gong to try out the method you suggest John, sounds a little more safe. And Yes Kalle, the next time i turned on Sonar, that line was gone . i do back up my files also, just in case, always a great idea. Thanks Folks,
Cheers,
Rob.

yup same here

i've used delete hole a number of times (including today!) and i see weird lines and black boxes etc. when i move stuff around

it never affects anything though and eventually (upon restart or whatever) it just goes away
