I am having a strange one here - Any time I re-size the video window it kills video playback until I close and restart SONAR.
And this is something one would do often to check how audio-for-video is coming along...
The slightest move of the window border will do it - and even resizing the track-view window more than an inch or two will do it too.
Restarting SONAR fixes it. This is a new problem that didn't happen when my install was "fresher".
 
Anyone seen this bugaboo before?

I'm certainly no expert on using Video but from what I do understand is that it is a heavy user of memory. You do not mention if you have a video card which I would think is mandatory for people who work with video. If you do and it has lots of it's own memory then I am probably barking at the wrong tree. 
Because your only 32 bit that tells me you won't have much system memory which is used if you don't have a video card. The reason everybody has switched to 64 bit systems is all about having access to more memory. 
I'm wondering why you are using 32 bit? Sonar 7 apparently runs fine on 64 bit systems.

I was ready for the memory issue so as usual I used as low-rez of an AVI as I could stand to look at. This has always worked just fine in the past. The AVI's I use are always 720x480 and encoded at low data rates so the video files are small and easy for SONAR's brain to deal with.
And the bugger is that as long as I don't touch the Video Window's borders in any way I can work for hours, add in huge-memory VST Instruments and everything.

When I have some down time I'll do a system restore to a previous state I know is really clean and solid... but until then I was just curious if anyone had seen this behavior before.

Ha! Really? only 4 now? It does kinda feel that way.
I know so little about SONAR X that I don't even know if it uses floating video windows like in our antiques!

If our group here is so small - we should each get a throne.

Actually there is probably 100"s of happy 8.5 users and you can see that sometimes a thread will get 200 views. It's just very few "helpers" left here. Lot's of people in the X series still use 8.5. It was still to this day the most stable version I think. X is still growing. If it follows tradition Sonar X8e will be the one to buy.
