Hi there,

I have also opened cases with Cakewalk and NI, but I thought I would ask here too.

I'm using Maschine 2.1 as a VST in Sonar PE X3e.

I can't get sonar to trigger scene changes in Maschine via midi.  I'll post screen snaps of my configurations below.

Everything else seems to be working fine midi-wise between sonar and maschine.

Has anyone done this successfully with these versions? How? I'm happy to post more info if needed.

Thanks!

JonC

I have had no issues with this is Maschine 1.8

comments:
1. fyi the maschine mk2 ports on the midi tabs are not the vst they are the physical ports on the back of the unit.
2. when you instantiate the VST, enable the midi source track
3. in the midi source track, this is where you put your scene change commands. (its not clear from your pic if this is the vst midi source track or a midi track to maschinemk2)
4. I typically use PC commands rather than note messages for scene change, PC=001 = scene 1 etc. Note that that Maschine is capable of transposing input notes... a C3 becomes a C2 for random reasons at times. I suggest that this is worth a shot.

fyi I don't have V2 firmware and am aware that many things working in 1.8 got broke, including some aspects of VST capability. The NI forum is the place to post, as I have never had a response to a ticket from NI.

regards

Thanks Mystic.

I figured out what I was doing wrong - I was using midi note C2 to trigger a change to Scene 1.

Per section 13.4 "Triggering Scenes via MIDI (MASCHINE Plug-in Only) of the Maschine 2.0 MK2 manual, I should have been using C0 (midi note zero) for Scene 1 and going up from there.

You should read the manual addendum:
2.2.1 Triggering Scenes via MIDI in Stand-Alone Mode
and the main manual reference on the Notes and CC's used in:
13.4 Triggering Scenes via MIDI (MASCHINE Plug-in Only)

In short, you use that little gear icon as shown here:

EDIT: sorry you posted as I was uploading this.
