I know this may be a weird question but how is the stability of Sonar X3 compared to Sonar x1?  I'm thinking about upgrading and so far on almost all of the reviews I see about Sonar X3, it says it is rock solid.  I am having some drop outs and crashes ever so often on Sonar X1 so I'm thinking about upgrading.

Sonar X3d is running rock solid for me so far. I have it on my studio desktop and my performance laptop. I work in all types of formats and styles on a daily basis and it has been absolutely rock solid. We all still wait for something to be done with the notation part. I think it's safe to say it just won't happen.
Otherwise, I have relied on Sonar as my main goto workstation for many years. X3 is the strongest I have seen since using Cake.

I don't think I've seen a single crash with X3. Pretty impressive now that I think of it...

X3e also has been rock solid for me.  Very pleased.
X1 crashed quite often, as did X2...X3...nope..solid.

Make a backup, download the trial and see if it meets your needs on your PC. If it does not there may be some configuration adjustments which may also help with X1.

Thank you to everyone for their responses!  Really good info!  Looks like I'll be upgrading to Sonar X3!

I have seen more crashes and dropouts on X3 than I saw on X1D.. but then again everyone's machine and setup is different and many people do not use the features or initiate the varied circumstances that cause specific (or weird) crashes.
There are plenty of other good and solid reasons to migrate from X1 to X3 though, and so I would heartily suggest that you do so.. There re many feature enhancements that will (should) make your workflow easier.. but I think that anything else other than saying  "it generally should be better on X3 than X1" is a bit of a crap shoot.

My X3 setup has worked very well, X1 was definitely apt to crash at least once a session.

Sonar X3D and E are about on par with X1D, in my recent experience.
