X1 was a toddler. Often adorable, but had a hard time at first learning to walk - and you did have to change the diapers until he grew up to X1d.
X2 was a teenager. Generally a good kid, despite moments of angst. However, dropped out of school before graduating to X2b.
X3 went back to school, graduated with honors, and is now a mature yet fun-loving adult. You're glad he moved in next door and became your neighbor.

A really entertaining way to put it, Craig.

I just upgraded from X1 to X3 Producer at the beginning of this month. X3E is stable here. I'm still venturing around in it, and loving it.

One thing I can say which I'm glad to report is that MIDI features are more stable than in X1. In X1, when assigning controllers to the Cakewalk Generic Surface and the ACT MIDI controller, and then using ACT learn to assign contollers to control parameters of the ProChannel QuadCurve EQ, my ProChannel parameter assignments used to get lost when I closed a project, and I would have to assign them all over again when I reopened a project. I'm glad to say with SONAR X3E, they are remembered!

It is a big deal for me to have MIDI features working correctly in SONAR, as all my music production is done using softsynths and a Master MIDI Keyboard controller! I am elated that MIDI features are working right in X3E. I am really proud and pleased that Cakewalk has this working reliably. When I was beta testing for a certain Avid hardware product, they used to give me bad reports about ACT not working reliably, and since I was having problems myself, I couldn't reply strongly in support of SONAR. Now that MIDI features are working reliably, I can stand proud in defense of SONAR being strong and Professional in major areas where it certainly should shine!

I tell you I'm elated with SONAR X3 Producer! Thank you for the great work, Noel and the devlopement team (and beta testers and forum members submitting bug reports)! With all the great enhancements and added features from X2 and now X3, SONAR is truely shining brightly with the biggest contenders in the professional DAW field, now! This is such an exciting time! I'm so pleased and proud of SONAR X3 Producer!
