hello everyone, every now and then while i'm working away everything freezes. what happens is I can move the courser (arrow) however nothing happens when I click on it. sometimes if I wait it comes back to life, sometimes if I hit escape it comes back to life but most of the time I need to shut down the computer. has anyone ever seen this? I did hear once that if the wireless is on that could cause it however I've been turning off the internet before I start working.
any ideas, thoughts??

I had this with one laptop and never solved it until I completely reformatted. Could be a few things, like a RAM issue or hard disk issue. In my case it was probably a bad driver or OS service.

The upside is that since it was a hard hang I was afraid it was a hardware issue, but the same laptop has been great since reformatting.

It could be anything at this stage but it's probably hardware or driver related.

I suggest you update all your drivers and firmware everywhere (that includes your motherboard BIOS, graphics card, sound card, and motherboard chipset drivers... ) and run windows update several times and see if it goes away... cheers...

I agree, it could be hardware related or it could be software related.
