The funny thing is that the only Jeff Beck song I've ever listened to was a cover of Stevie Wonder's Superstitious. I KNOW he is an amazing guitarist, but I just never took the time..

Likewise, I remember recording my part on a record and being told that it sounded like Steve Morse. To this day, I've never heard him.

I'm a serious failure - I was trying to channel a Jimmy Page kind of thing..

I got told for years that I sound like Jeff Beck without actually having listened to any of his music. When eventually I did get around to listening to some of it, it was eerie. In parts though, not all of it. I could never come close, in truth, the guy is one of the most tasteful guitarists in the world. His rendition of  "Where Were You" at Ronnie Scott's is unreal.

Anyone wishing to emulate Beck really has to up their whammy bar technique tho....

Definitely Gilmourish on the back end, but closer to Randy at the front.

Oops!  Forgot to mention that not only did I like it, this is definitely the type of music I love to listen to!  So finish whatever you're doing and get it out there!

Other than being told I sound like cats being knocked off an alley fence, I've had people say that they hear some evidence of Blackmore in there (VERY little I'm sure) which makes sense when you consider that Craig Goldy was the only teacher I ever had (and for not long enough) and he was heavily influenced by Ritchie, heck it was his prime influence actually.

Ditto, I definitely heard some Gary Moore in the (very fluid) runs Krist.

Very nice mate, love the string vibrato in there.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Gary Moore is one of the names that keeps coming up. The weird thing is that I've heard only 2 or 3 of his songs, way back in the days - a guitar solo and a song called Hiroshima IIRC. A shame, really. I know he's great, I just never got around to listening to him.

I had a comparison to Steve Morse a couple of times too, and Eric Johnson. At the time I'd never listened to either. Morse is now one of my favourite players, especially with Flying Colors.
