Now that I have my trial version of X3 running, I'm looking for some good introductory training videos.
 
I looked on YouTube and there are lots of "how to" videos but the ones I saw were all on how to do very specific or advanced or creative features.   I'll get to that eventually, but as a beginner I first want to learn the basics, like selecting, editing, cutting pasting, moving, changing levels, importing, exporting, and finding my way around the UI, and learning whatever special language and terminology is unique to X3. 
 
Where are some good introductory training materials for Sonar X3?

So I  clicked on your link and it said, "This course covers basic setup and operation of SONAR and its features."    That sounded good.   So I clicked on it and it was a video about about "Addictive Drums"!
 
What does that have to do with basic setup and operations?    I want to learn the cool, glitzy features and toys after I learn the basics.   Anyway, I'll be buying the basic Sonar X3, not the more expensive Producer version, so I won't even have "Addictive Drums" in the version I buy.   Where is the "basic setup and operations" that their webpage was talking about?
 

There are a quite few videos on that page. If there is nothing of interest there, there might be something on youtube, from SWA or Groove3 that may be more satisfying.

Yeah both the Groove and SWA are really good, and because of different instructors, they comes across slightly differently, with slightly different focuses. I'd work you way through all the free stuff first, then have a groove3's site. It seems for $15 you get access to anything you can make time to see. You don't just get sonar, but a wealth of other music related tutorials. There s usually a free 5-10 mins of each tutorial to give you a taster.  

The documentation also supplies tutorials and basic configuration information albeit not in a video format.

There's also the SONAR X3 Power book, which walks you through the entire application...

Yes there are a lot of videos on that page but none of the ones I saw looked like an overall introduction to the product.   Could you suggest one?   Nor did I see anything on YouTube that didn't look like marketing material.    Yes, Groove seems to have some stuff but they are a pay site.  Remember, I'm trying to evaluate X3 to decide whether to buy it, so I don't want to spend money to decide whether to spend money. 
 
I'm coming from an Audacity background, but I need a new tool because Audacity doesn't support MIDI.   Another DAW I'm looking at is Reaper.   Both Audacity and Reaper have tons and tons of free how-to videos mostly supplied by their user communities.   Do they just have bigger, more active user communities?
