Yes. Even when the second lane is empty.

Hey Randy, what you see in the parent track when lanes are expanded and there are at least two of them is a "Comp clip". It's not really a clip in the traditional sense, but a representation of the composite of all the active (i.e. not muted) content of all lanes. Editing of the Comp clips is pretty much limited to moving them which moves all clips in the track as a group. See "Comp clip" in the Ref. Guide for more info.

I know it's hard to wrap your head around the X-series at first if you've come from 8.5. But if your experience is anything like mine, in a few months you'll be wondering how come it's become so much easier to do music
