Which  one do I want?  Can only buy 1.  If I buy the Roland, the added bonus is I can:  Swing a sweet PCI Audio Interface.  If I buy the Casio:  Than I have a kick ass, synth that brings the 80s back in style!!

do you need a hardware solution for the synth?

It looks like you are looking for a midi controller, and the Casio would do double duty?

There are many nice software solutions, and you could control the parameters from the A500...

The Arturia Collection was on sale at one time, and boy howdy would that have been nice..

I am so worried about, "getting yet another synth."  I just don't know..   Maybe I should go for the Roland and an Audio Card..   I am so on the fence its insane!!

One thing I do know, is that I have an abundance of software.  I don't really need a new synth, even if I just grab that controller.   I've got plenty of things to use it with.

But you know?  I am such a wacky one..  Cause I thinking, "totally 1980s.  OMFG Casio is back with a synth???"

Without an audio interface what is the use of living. A computer without one is just a word processor. 

I've got an audio interface...    its just falling apart..   but still usable...   ( stupid crap made outside of the USA, and we keep having to replace this crap. )  It makes me mad!!

Anyways, I can't do it today, cause I have some late afternoon work, but I have decided I will head to GuitarCenter, and check out both the Roland and Casio.

Meanwhile, if I bought the Casio, I could probably replace my interface in January...

...or an Akai MPK49/61 if just a midi controller is all you are after, plus you get the pads and a bunch of other Midi/CC controls.  I've yet to get mine to actually work with X2 of course, but I've only had the keyboard since yesterday lol!

btw, my first ever keyboard was a Casio (I'm pretty sure it was a Casio 101) - back in 1981.

Roland looks good, but I never liked the combined pitch/mod wheel approach.  My old D-10 had one of those and there just wasn't the granularity in the mod over the 4mm of travel.  Plus I'd keep altering both when I just wanted to modify one.
