1. Sound Designed a 13 minute film. (45 audio tracks into 10 busses to the master buss)
2. Export OMF (both as embedded or reference external files as either OMF1 or OMF 2)
3. Sonar copies the wav files to the designated directory.
4. At the end of the export of the OMF error message "Problem exporting OMF: <file path> OMFI_ERR: Failed a semantic check on an input data"
5. Sonar fails to build an OMF.

I'm on X3c, but since there has been no update on X3d with regards to OMFs I dont see much point in changing to X3d and trying this.

Anyone else get this?

My first thought was a permissions issue but since I am exporting to a non system drive the permissions are fine.

Very frustrating as I have to export this to a client.

Exporting an OMF1 gives a slightly different message.

"Problem exporting OMF: <path name> OMFI_ERR: Invalid object attached to property"

Have tried reporting the problem but both in Chrome and IE I get...

or at least our little part of it is. The page you are requesting is currently unavailable or some kind of error has occurred. Have you tried clearing your browser's cache? just documenting my troubleshooting here....

Have now tried to slice the project in half or a third and re-export OMFs in smaller chunks (OMF's dictate no OMF can be bigger than 2gb)

But, still "OMFI_ERR: Mob does not exist in this file"

I have checked all the past OMF export error threads on the forum as well and it seems these issues have been around for years.

May I be as bold to suggest that the lovely team at Sonar look into OMFs sufficiently so it works?

Is it a 64 bit issue then? This I am wondering.

It would be great then like in Logic if you could open Sonar in a 32 bit mode? But then where would that leave 64 bit plugs used in the project?

Maybe the only way round Sonar getting this issue resolved is to start to support AAF? Although PT11 which is 64 bit supports both OMF and AAF, is this because they have their Avid Media Composer bolted on to PT11?

Tried everything and have given up now

Just tried processing all the Audio FX, export OMF both as embedded and referenced and again, both as a small chunk or the whole project.

Same errors.

I have had some luck exporting before but this project, boy oh boy I cant for the life of me figure out why she wont play ball....

The only thought I have left is that some of the sample sources were at different bit rates maybe? But then if you pull a sound into a 48k 24 bit project then Sonar converts them...or should....

I must have spent about 7 hours on this today

Mr Dub, please report back and let me know how you get on?
