I did not get those errors.  The only oddness i got was, one of the tracks was blank (and I'm sure that was my fault since it was an unfrozen midi track) and although thr OMF opened fine in Sonar, all tracks were silent when opened in Audition

Cheers for your cross check Mr D.

The problem I guess is that I have - rather than a test project - a project where theres 49 tracks, 10 busses and god knows how many edits, fades, automation and thus it just could be the age old problem with OMF's in general (i.e they are flaky as hell), or that theres a problem in the way Sonar handles them or both...I can totally sympathize with Sonar and OMFs in that they (OMF's) are gremlin ridden and the room for error is high.

What I would like to see is some sense in the OMF Sonar errors that can help me troubleshoot the issue, or some better dialogue on the export, or for Sonar to support handles, or for Sonar to support fades. Either way I do believe a further update to Sonar addressing OMF/AAF multi DAW post Production compatibility would just be a Godlike implementation for me.

I did export a fairly simple project.  i will try a more advanced project and see what happens

Tried with a much larger project with over 10 busses.  Worked without generating errors.  Needless to say bus info did not export but I expected that. Like I said, I don't normally export OMF.  I typically import it from projects i tack in Logic at the studio so that i can mix in Sonar.

Hmmm, with your experiment I can only assume as such that the project one was exporting from didnt have all the fades or automation as my project etc etc (no fault of yours)

Likewise, I rarely have issues importing OMFS from DP/Logic/PT/FCP....usually if I get an import error its from Premiere....

Deffo seems to me that this whole OMF business needs greater testing in Sonar and in an ideal world I wish some brainbox out there would write a wrapper like Jbridge but for OMF's, that would make everyones lives better....

if only I could code darn it.

Btw Mr D, thanks so much for your time in testing things from your end.....

If I could gobbler this project and test with another Sonar user I would, but I am bound by the usual contracts in place in not showing work before it goes to show.

I understand how that is.  Actually the project did have fades and automation.  I have an idea..brb

I'm going to download this project: http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/kb/reader.aspx/2007013323

so that we both have access to the exact same project.  It's just the X3 Javier Colon Demo project.  I downloaded before but deleted.  I'm pretty sure it has automation and such on it.  If we are both able to export OMF with no glitches, we can start adding things to see if we can recreate your issues
