Marcus..have you contacted Sony tech support about your issue? It seems like something that falls under codec or video card issue

 
I have contacted them and I have uploaded a small part of the video in question. After thinking about it there are two options to the fix.
 
First would be to see if there is a quicklime upgrade. I have narrowed it down to an issue with quicklime and Vegas. the video works fine in everything else including premier.
 
The second would be to import the video in Microsoft movie maker and try to export it again in another format that will work in Vegas. I really don't want to spend the money on premier and I don't want to tell the people involved that we need to reshoot everything. So yeah this is a major problem, but I will work through it somehow.
 
Cakewalk bugs have got nothing on Vegas bugs! They are far worse! The whole project is shut down right now.
 
I did record the audio separately in cakewalk while filming the video and cakewalk did its part. can't wait to get a working video inside cakewalk to work with the audio.

Vegas is very reliable. It could be quicktime or vegas but don't rule out other options. My last major video software issue turned out to be due to a faulty Microsoft update.

I just ran a quick Google search; an OEM copy of Premiere Pro CS6 (Encore NOT included) is $99.95. The entire OEM CS6 Master Collection (every program in the suite) is $299.95.
 
I have never purchased from that company, so cannot attest to how good/bad they are. When I upgraded to CS 5.5, I actually went through Adobe, not realizing the "CC" pricing was just around the corner. In hind sight, I would have gone with OEM myself. I did, however, call Adobe to ask about the OEM copies and they said they are legit, but do not qualify for "upgrade pricing," which is no longer applicable with CC.
 
There are a couple tricky workflow things with Premiere Pro, and Dub actually clued me in on the most important one starting out... when importing a video, you have to cancel that initial project setup dialog, import the files, and then drag a video onto the "Insert new timeline." That makes the project conform to the video, and is not something obvious at all.

That's a great deal!  I just recently had to do a project using CS6 because the client needed it done that way for compatibility. Did not miss a beat.
