  • Pro Channel HPF issues: from X2 this crap is happening still in X3e

Again, I was working on a song and then suddenly, wherever I did not have automation controls on the ProChannel HPF freq, it just decided to move it up significantly, from wherever it was to 8k-20k, with no rhyme nor reason. Did not happen to busses, only to tracks.

Any one else see this happening in X3e?

Does it jump in the same place every time? If so, what does the automation lane look like at that point?

No, it isn't pinned at any particular point from what I can tell.
The automation lane is clear, meaning there if wasn't one before for HPF control (cuz if there was an automation lane for HPF there's no change)

You have something buried causing the issue.  look harder

Umm, no I don't think so. This behavior has been popping up since X2. The code has an obvious bug.

If it is an obvious bug, then it's likely other people would have noticed it as well. I've automated HPF without incident. Tried it again in case it was an X3e thing, but again, it worked. If this really had been a problem since X2, surely someone would have responded to your query whether anyone else had experienced this behavior.

If it's not an obvious bug, we would need more info. I'm not sure, for example, what this means: "The automation lane is clear, meaning there if wasn't one before for HPF control (cuz if there was an automation lane for HPF there's no change)

If it's pilot error, we would also need more info.

Craig, I think he's saying that he's resorted to using a flatline automation envelope to ensure the HPF doesn't change because it's prone to change spontaneously if not deliberately locked in by a fixed automation level.

My only thought is that a flaky control surface might be sending spurious commands.

Have you checked your event list to see if any bogus midi was recorded?

Also, have you tried solo'ing the automation read on just that track to identify if its on that track or another one thats triggering it?

Also, if you dont want automation on that track on the pro channel, disable remote control on it.
