Hi folks, I'm currently on X1d but I just loaded the trial for X3 to see if vocal rider (vst3) would side chain. This is a vst 3 feature and I think only X3 has the vst 3 support.

I didn't have any luck, just wondering if I need to reinstall the vocal rider plug (or waves) to get it to show as a vst 3 plug in. It shows as vst 2 right now. (This is waves V9R2)
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

WAVES require VST3 to sidechain. This is a WAVES not a SONAR requirement. Also do not mix WAVES VST2 and VST3 plug-ins in the same project.

Thanks scook for the info about mixing vst2 and 3.

I don't understand though, both Waves V9 and Sonar X3c are vst 3 compatible, yet Sonar doesn't show any waves plugs in the vst 3 list. I had wondered if reinstalling Waves might correct the problem.

PS. Folks who have been wanting to use the side chain feature of Vocal Rider have been wanting VST 3 compatibility in Sonar for some time now. I believe both need to have vst 3 in order to work.

Works fine for me, what is your method?
Also, why are you on X3c and more importantly, such an old Waves version? They only added compatibility for Sonar from like R15.
Run the Waves Online Installer to get the latest version.

I've been using side chain in Vocal Rider in X3 for a couple of months.
I'm not sure what your issue is, just wanted to let you know it does work in X3 (as a VST3 plug).
Hope you get it sorted out.
